Our experience

We are Dan and Carolyne Wood, a husband and wife team with experience in IT development, website management, ecommerce systems and service management across the public, private and voluntary sectors. We have worked for a range of companies both large and small.

Since returning to the UK after several years working in the Netherlands we’ve thrown ourselves into a variety of community projects. We’ve had a great time being volunteers and working with the trustees of local charities on their websites.

Our approach

We offer a free initial consultation where we can talk to you about what you want to achieve with your website. We can also assess your current site and prepare an improvement plan to support our quotation.

We want to provide you with a website that meets your audience's needs, this can be your customers, the public, members, volunteers, funders, trustees, press, clients, whoever is important to you. Our development aims to be accessible to everyone, secure and optimised for search engines so your site gets found online.

We work with multiple content management services and hosting providers so you are free to continue using your current service or we can recommend an alternative. We will always leave you in control of your site.

Once your site is up and running we can train you to update the site yourself or we can help maintain the site for you.

We aim to be available to our clients, if you need an update to your site, some advice or a new piece of development we will get back to you as quickly as we can.

What's in a name

Doric Design combines our home in Aberdeenshire (where we’re learning new Doric words all the time) and Greece where we got married. This explains the Doric columns on the website too, in case you were wondering. Our logo is inspired by the regular visits we get from the local deer. More about the Doric language from Wikipedia.
